How to make your
own superhero
...
Has
it ever been your desire to make
your own superhero?
You may have had the idea swirling around in your head
about your character for a long time or just
happened to be a little bored surfing online one day? And
it doesn't matter who you are... Whether you are the big
CEO sitting in his 18th floor office or the tween that
really just wants to try out his artistic side, we all
have the desire (and the ability) to create and
build our own superhero. It says a lot about humans
that we all dream of superheroes; wanting to be something
bigger than ourselves and maybe even make a difference in
the world. A hero is a lot more to us than just a person
with super powers.
So
if you have the desire and the design, where do you get
started? If you really want to make
your own superhero there are only a few places to
turn. The first stop should be looking up templates
on any available search engine. This will turn up some
really decent results. You will be able to find ideas,
templates, even full programs to create your
superhero. You may even find a site that
has a character generator to create names
and a costume. There are plenty of ways to get started
including doing this style search.
You should start
to make your own
superhero by considering what you like
about superheroes. Does your superhero fly, read
minds, or time travel? Will he be from now, the past,
the future? I say he, but will it be a girl, or maybe
an animal with superpowers? Will they have weapons,
powers, or just use their mind to manipulate their
surroundings? Instead of a man, maybe a machine? Maybe
your person isn't a hero at all but instead a
villian?

Next, think about your favorite superhero
cartoon and why you liked them. I have always liked Spiderman.
Now I don't necessarily like the movie series but I really
liked the comic book and the "New Adventures of Spiderman" tv
series that ran about 12-15 years ago. He was just an average
guy that got bit by a spider and that is why he was my
favorite. I also thought he had a pretty good sense of humor. I
also liked his supervillian enemies.
Maybe you would like to design a superhero
like Batman or Superman? Is it because Superman flies or
because Batman drives a really cool car? Do you like Wolverine
because he has blades that come out of his knuckles or because
he heals so quickly? Maybe you like Professor X because even
though he is in a wheelchair, he is stronger than any other of
the X-men because of his mind?
You should also consider how involved you
want to be as the creator when making your own superhero. This
involves deciding which program to use. Do you want just a
picture design of your character or do you want to
create your own superhero figures with
a personality to go along with it? Will your superhero
have a life story and an adventure too? Will you create friends
and enemies of your superhero or do you just want it for your
personal satisfaction? Neither a yes or no answer to the above
questions are wrong but you may want to consider how greatly
you want to be wrapped up when you build your own
superhero.
